Dear Parents,
Can you believe that we are in our last quarter of second grade? The time has really flown by! In this last nine week period, we will continue to work on problem solving with length, money, and data. We will also learn about shapes, solids, and fractions. In addition, we will continue to read and analyze stories. Furthermore, we will be writing paragraphs and expanding them to include adjectives, adverbs, and “tell me more” sentences. As you can see, we have lots more to learn in second grade.
As the year comes to an end, I just wanted to take the time to thank you for allowing me to work with your children. It has been such a joy to watch them grow – socially and academically. They have worked hard all year and I am so proud of them. They have accomplished so much. I feel in my heart that they are ready to face the challenges of third grade and beyond.
During the summer, make sure the learning continues. Visit the library and make time for reading each day. Practice math facts. Also, have your child do a little writing task each week. These activities will help your child make a smooth transition into the next school year.
Thank you for your cooperation and support throughout the year. Enjoy this last quarter and have a wonderful summer!
