K-Kids
K-Kids is a service organization for elementary school students. Any 2nd or 3rd grade student interested in service to school and community is eligible to join. The Mandeville Northshore Kiwanis Club serves as the K-Kids club sponsoring organization. Mrs. Cangiamilla and Mrs. Fradella will act as the K-Kids faculty advisors along with a committee of teachers and will be in attendance at all K-Kids meetings. Activity meetings will be conducted bi-monthly on Monday. Our meeting dates will be September 26, November 14, January 30, and March 27.
All meetings will be after school from 3:45 to 5:00 p.m. Parents will need to make arrangements to pick up K-Kids participants in car line, as bus service will not be provided following our meetings. Parents will NOT be allowed to walk up and pick up their child for safety reasons. We will follow regular car line rules when dismissing K-Kids.
The objectives of K-Kids are:
- To provide opportunities for working together in service to school and community.
- To develop leadership potential.
- To foster development of a strong moral character.
- To encourage loyalty to school, community, and nation.
A permission slip will be sent home the week before the meeting. This permission slip must be signed and returned by the meeting day. Only students with signed permission slips will be allowed to stay after school for the meeting. Parents will NOT be called on the day of the meeting.
K-Kids Club members are required to pay the $10 dues. Dues pay for a shirt, snacks, crafts, and all supplies needed for meetings. If you would like to join K-Kids, please fill out and return the order form sent home in 1st day paperwork with payment by Friday, August 19th. Payments should be made online via MyPaymentsPlus.
Please visit the website www.kkids.org for more information. Parents of interested students are asked to complete and return the form sent home in 1st day paperwork to the school office by Friday, August 19th. Please contact Mrs. Cangiamilla (Laura.Cangiamilla@stpsb.org) if you have any questions. Parents are welcome at all meetings and your help is much appreciated.
